Our Story
Skama Shipping and Projects was founded in 2009 by Surajit Kumar Das with a clear vision: to build a bespoke maritime agency house that goes beyond traditional liner and non-liner shipping services. From the beginning, the company focused on supporting new asset owners in developing commercial and operational strategies for launching feeder services within the ISC corridor.
As the company grew, Skama expanded into maritime consulting, assisting aspiring ship owners with vessel sourcing, container procurement, routing strategy, and voyage cost planning. Following several successful projects, Skama also took on the role of managing these services as an operational agent, strengthening its position as a trusted maritime partner.
The company later diversified into client-specific contract logistics in the chemical industry, including the deployment and global management of ISO tanks on behalf of clients. This expertise led to Skama Group being appointed by Bulkhaul, a leading UK-based ISO tank operator, further reinforcing its global logistics capabilities.
